Resuming content and tools!

AAAAH!! [Federico here]

It's that time of the year again: the website has been updated (every Summer I feel the need to improve it), and the blog UX is much better!

This is because... we are ready to post new content and tools!

What's coming

Free tutorials and samples are coming from the next weeks!

  • For both Godot, Unity and game dev in general (things are hard!), we have many projects in development and we're finally ready to either resume or start sharing them!
  • We plan to release them continuously once one or two weeks maximum, but not gonna lie - it's pretty difficult (since we have lot going on) AND it's Summer! Just know we'll do our best to reach this goal from now onwards ❤
  • Stay updated to this blog [simply subscribe to the newsletter / create a free account] so that you're already set.

We're bringing Text Animator to Godot!!

  • Our goal is to bring feature parity with the Unity version (as much as possible), and we're starting with some features in Early Access and then slowly roll out the missing features as 1.X approaches, while also gathering feedbacks!
  • It will work from Godot 4.X and only in the .NET version (so that you have almost the same APIs, if you need to port things over from Unity).
  • It'll have a cheaper price in Early Access for developers wanting to support us from day one and get it early - but still super accessible for the full release! We are loving Godot and we'll make another post in detail with the dates, reasons and the where/how. Stay updated!

We're also upgrading Text Animator for Unity to a Major Version, 3.X!!

  • We are bringing support to UI toolkit!! It was hard porting things over, but not impossible. I hope you'll like it!
  • It'll most likely be a Major Upgrade, meaning that if you have 2.X and want to access 3.X (since it contains new features, other than UI Toolkit) you can pay a very small upgrade fee (instead of purchasing it again).
  • Support will still provided to 2.X users! No worries, we're always here for 'ya <3
  • We are also evaluating a license improvement (for 3.X, nothing retroactive) so that smaller teams can afford the asset even more (since per-seat didn't scale for anyone), and bigger teams can help us keep it affordable for everyone else. We'll be back with a post covering it in more details in the near future! Stay tuned on this as well!

We have at least one entirely new tool coming later this year! And we also have a full game in development with Godot, planning to share more from September (but first we need to figure out Gamescom and rest a bit after it).

Hear you soon!

Thanks for reading!

I'll write a post about how we're doing all of this (and our mistakes in discovering how to do so), but it'll be at a later time.

In the meantime... wishing you a lovely journey and hear you soon!

Aaaaand don't forget to leave a comment or send an email if you want to tell us something, it'll make us super happy.

Cheers!
