The winners of Global Game Jam 2026 (Italy) for Text Animator

Hi everyone! We’ve officially selected eleven games whose teams will receive a free key for our tool Text Animator.

It took some time to make this post because we had to coordinate/wait with other sponsors giving rewards as well! Here you can find all the selected games and their prizes!

Teams and Games

There were so many games submitted to GGJ26 Italy (around 100, more or less); we played all of them and it was a fantastic experience! Those days were full of creativity and passion, and we could feel that energy in every game we tried. Choosing only 11 was incredibly hard!

Below you’ll find the official list of the games we selected (congratulations to everyone!) - we’ve also added a few notes here and there to share some of the things that stood out to us during the selection.

  • Laconico: the theme of incommunicability. It was so fascinating to try to communicate with someone you don’t understand in a dark horror setting, taking clues and trusting a little bit that the conversation is going in the direction you hoped for!

  • Patchball
  • Drop Dead Gorgeous
  • Masked Monster, with a style that recalls classic Super Scaler racing games, portrays how natural phenomena such as tornadoes are in fact extremely dangerous. It creates a striking contradiction by encouraging players to get as close as possible to these hazards in order to take photos and earn as many points as possible.

  • Dusk
  • doppelponger
  • Layer duels explores the duality of combat through one of its most distinctive mechanics. The game lets you switch between two colors, black and white, fundamentally altering how you interact with the world. When your color matches that of an object, you become intangible to it, passing through platforms and even bullets. When the colors differ, everything becomes physical again, allowing you to stand on platforms, be hit by attacks, and engage with the environment in a normal way.

  • Clash Of Masks: a game made by a father and daughter (they partecipate every year and it's wonderful to see!!)

  • Maskhaton
  • AstroToad
  • Clipping Mask is an adorable puzzle game where you can materialize or dematerialize objects using a freely movable lens, allowing your character to use them to reach the goal. Too small to jump onto a wardrobe? You can use your lens to make half of it disappear, creating a way to climb on top of it!
